DirectorIDVerify terms and conditions

Last updated: 8 September 2026

1. Who we are

DirectorIDVerify is a trading name of SB Business Consulting Limited, company number 11369594, registered office 28 Townsend Street, Cheltenham, England, GL51 9HD. References to “we”, “us” and “our” mean SB Business Consulting Limited trading as DirectorIDVerify.

We are a Companies House authorised corporate service provider (ACSP). Our authorised agent number is AP021658. DirectorIDVerify is independent of Companies House, GOV.UK and Stripe.

2. The service

We provide a paid identity-verification service for the individual being verified. If we are satisfied that the applicable Companies House identity-verification standard has been met, we will make the relevant submission to Companies House as an authorised agent.

We use Stripe for payment and the secure digital identity-verification journey. A Stripe result, a document upload or a payment confirmation is not itself a final approval by us. We remain responsible for making a documented decision and may request further evidence, decline a case or tell you about alternative steps where we cannot be satisfied that the required standard has been met.

You may also be able to verify directly with Companies House using GOV.UK One Login. Our service is optional and does not replace any route Companies House makes available to you.

3. Fees and payment

  • UK resident identity verification: £25 per person.
  • Overseas resident identity verification: £50 per person.

The price shown at checkout is the price that applies. Payment is made before the verification journey begins and is processed by Stripe. There is no subscription or automatic renewal. We may ask you to pay the correct price if the route selected does not match the service required.

4. Your responsibilities

You must provide complete, accurate and current information, including your full name and any former names, date of birth, home address, address history, email address and the evidence we reasonably request. You must provide only genuine, valid documents that relate to you. Do not use another person’s documents, altered documents, cancelled documents or documents that you are not entitled to use.

You must have access to the email address used for the verification. Keep your Companies House personal code confidential. Do not email identity documents, proof of address, date-of-birth details or your personal code to us.

5. What happens after payment

After successful payment, our website should start the secure identity-verification journey. You must complete the requested Stripe Identity steps and, where required, upload proof of address using the one-time secure link. We review the available evidence manually before reaching our final decision.

If a document is incomplete, inconsistent, expired, suspicious or insufficient, we may ask for more information or decline to proceed. We will not submit a verification to Companies House until we are satisfied that the required standard has been met.

6. Timing and Companies House personal code

After all required evidence has passed our review, our target is to submit the verification to Companies House within four business hours. This is a target, not a guarantee. It does not apply where further evidence, investigation, a technical issue, a payment issue or a Companies House query is needed.

Companies House, not DirectorIDVerify, emails the 11-character personal code directly to the email address used for the verification. Companies House says this is normally within a few hours after it receives the relevant submission. We do not control Companies House systems and cannot guarantee when the code will be issued, delivered or accepted.

7. Cancellations, immediate performance and refunds

If you are a consumer buying online, you may have a statutory cancellation right. By asking us to begin the identity-verification service immediately, you expressly request immediate performance. If the service is fully performed after that request, your cancellation right may be lost. If you cancel after work has begun but before full performance, we may charge a proportionate amount for the work and third-party costs already incurred.

Contact us promptly if you wish to cancel. We will consider genuine technical failures and service issues fairly. Nothing in these terms removes any statutory consumer rights.

8. No guarantee of outcome

We will provide the service with reasonable care and skill. We do not guarantee that a verification will pass, that Companies House will accept a submission, that it will issue a personal code, or that an appointment, incorporation or filing will be accepted. A Companies House decision, your eligibility and third-party systems are outside our reasonable control.

9. Fraud and misuse

We may suspend, refuse or report a case where we reasonably suspect fraud, identity misuse, false documentation or unlawful activity. We may retain and disclose information where required or permitted by law, including to Companies House, law-enforcement bodies, regulators and professional advisers.

10. Privacy and data protection

We process personal data as described in our Privacy Notice. You confirm that you have read it. The Companies House record-retention requirement means that we may need to retain verification evidence for seven years from completion, even if you ask us to delete it earlier.

11. Liability

Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability that cannot legally be excluded or limited. Subject to that, we are not liable for losses caused by inaccurate, incomplete or unavailable information you provide; your failure to complete the secure journey; a third-party system outside our reasonable control; or a Companies House decision.

12. Contact, complaints and law

Questions or complaints should be sent to info@directoridverify.co.uk or 01242 350490. We will try to resolve matters promptly.

These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales. The courts of England and Wales have jurisdiction, except where applicable consumer law gives you the right to bring a claim elsewhere.
